Course Description

A comprehensive review of residential structured wiring designed for new and inexperienced home technology installers. This course is also appropriate for builders, subcontractors, home technology manufacturers, and anyone with a serious interest in residential low voltage wiring.

This course provides a thorough grounding in the concepts and technologies of residential low voltage structured wiring, with emphasis on positive client relations, working safely and efficiently, coordinating with construction schedules and trades, installation best-practices, and future-proofing homes for the adoption of emerging technologies.

Informative text, detailed color diagrams, and instructional videos teach precisely what students need to know to successfully install structured wiring systems. Special In Depth articles provide deeper background and technical information on critical topics, and Project Management Tips coach installers on good management practices. An online Glossary provides ready access to definitions of key terms.

The course is divided into 10 training modules – each module ends with a quiz, and a comprehensive test at the end of the course allows students to demonstrate their newfound knowledge of structured wiring.
