Glossary Sample

Gateway – entry point of multiple services into a residence. Also a special node that interfaces two or more dissimilar networks and translates protocol between them.

Home Network (HAN – Home Area Network) - the computers and other devices in a home connected together. Over the network they have two-way signaling and can communicate, exchange data, share an internet connection, play games, etc.

HTI+ - a single-conductor connector where bowed strips of metal are compressed when it is inserted. Common for speaker cables.
